Checkmate

My latest project is a scene I decided to make after watching the “Game Over” Documentary which was about the famous chess game between Garry Kasparov and the IBM computer Deep Blue. So I decided to model, texture, shade, and light a small scene in which I have placed a couple of Chess pieces and a chess board.

Everything was done in Autodesk Maya and then used Mental Ray to render the different passes. For the final comp I used After Effects in order to blur the background with a depth pass I also rendered. The entire project took me around 2 to 3 hours to complete.
